Council began the February public hearing by remanding the proposed PD Ordinance back to staff/planning board for the addition of measurable standards. The proposed ordinance is form-based and the lack of specific standards for density (typical with form based codes) is a primary reason for opposition. Public comments were taken after the vote. Sixty speakers spoke; the majority in opposition. Proponents included developers, real estate agents, owners of larger tracts, and a few other residents and former residents. TREBIC members were encouraged to attend the February public hearing and otherwise support the addition of a PD ordinance in Summerfield.
