Jon Hardister was born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. He is a graduate of Grimsley High School and Greensboro College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

Following college, he served as Vice President of Marketing at First Carolina Mortgage. In 2012, he was elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives, where he served six terms before retiring in 2024. In 2016, his colleagues elected him North Carolina House Majority Whip, one of the senior leadership positions in the General Assembly. He is both the youngest and the longest-serving Majority Whip in state history.

During his legislative tenure, Hardister chaired several key committees, including Education – Universities, Appropriations – Education, and Appropriations – Capital. He received multiple awards and recognitions for his legislative work.

After leaving office, he was selected as President of TREBIC. His experience in state and local government, along with a demonstrated ability to collaborate and build consensus, made him well suited for the role. The Triad Business Journal named him one of its “Power 50 Leaders” in recognition of his influence on public policy and his capacity to convene stakeholders.

In his personal time, Hardister enjoys spending time with his family, physical fitness, and playing guitar. He resides in Whitsett, North Carolina.

Kim Phillips is the Regulatory Affairs Director at TREBIC, bringing over nine years of experience in the housing and building industry. Her career has spanned development, property management, supplier partnerships, and industry advocacy. Starting as an administrative assistant, Kim has steadily advanced through a combination of strategic problem-solving, collaborative leadership, and a deep commitment to the industry.

Known for her ability to bridge internal operations with external engagement, Kim has built a reputation for aligning business objectives with regulatory requirements and community needs. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business from UNCG and has a proven track record of developing creative, resilient solutions—especially during complex challenges such as supply chain disruptions.

Today, Kim leads regulatory strategy and advocates for thoughtful, forward-looking policy on behalf of the building industry. She is passionate about fostering sustainable growth, supporting innovation, and ensuring that the industry continues to thrive through smart, collaborative leadership.

Libby Bowen is a Winston-Salem native and attended R J Reynolds High School. She graduated from Furman University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a double major in History, and was a member of the Division I Women’s Lacrosse team. Following her time at Furman, Libby handled marketing and operations for Trim USA. In 2024 she completed an Internship with Senator Ted Budd’s state office and was brought on full-time later that year. During her time on Senator Budd’s staff, Libby served as a Constituent Services Representative working with North Carolina residents and public agencies on federal casework. Her role focused on ensuring the agencies were properly administering their policies and working towards resolutions on benefits and assistance issues for constituents. Libby’s portfolio included FEMA casework, so much of her time was spent assisting families and individuals impacted by Hurricane Helene. Through this process, she learned the value of direct communication with agency officials, and the impact that county and local policies have on the rebuilding process. When she is not working, Libby enjoys being active and spending time with family and friends.
